I’ve been tagged!

Eeek! I’ve been tagged. Mrs. Adept – one of my lovely and faithful visitors to my blog has tagged me… here’s Mrs. Adept’s blog so you can visit her: http://adepts.blogspot.com/

So. For this tag I have to tell the world 7 things about me. Hmmmm, not sure I’m interesting enough but here’s some random things:

1. I’m a classically trained pianist (who should make time to play but has been very slack since taking up stamping)

2. Just like Mrs. Adept, I stamp because I cannot draw – seriously, even my stick figures look bad. :(

3. I met my husband at work in 1987, we’ve been married 12 years and have 3 gorgeous kids together. :)
4. I’ve met Stevie Nicks and she dedicated a song to me at her concert.

5. I collect crystals for their beauty and healing properties

6. I’m a bibliophile and am constantly reading books

7. My favourite flowers are white tulips
Okay, now I have to pick 7 people to take this challenge (picking some who I don’t think have been tagged):
1. Tina Dickmanhttp://tinadickman.blogspot.com/

2. Leonie Schroderhttp://www.totallyaddinktive.com/

3. Jane Logan - http://loganberry.wordpress.com

4. Cheryl Andrewshttp://stampattack.blogspot.com/

5. Linda Higginshttp://www.lhiggins.blogspot.com/

6. Jenni Oliverhttp://www.jennioliver.com/

Sassy Stems

Wonderful Stem

So what do you do when you’re feeling tired? I cheat sometimes and CASE someone else’s card, especially if I’ve seen one I really like. This card was originally designed by Scrapstampindiva (sorry, I don’t know the real name of this lady) I think her version was much nicer than mine but I’m still pleased with the way this has turned out. For this card I’ve used:

Chocolate Chip, Confetti Cream & Cranberry Crisp Cardstock
Watercolour paper (actually cardstock thickness).
Sassy Stems stamp set (have been using this a lot!)
Spritzer Tool with Creamy Caramel marker to add some interest
The word “Wonderful” is from the Warm Words set
Chocolate and cream grosgrain ribbon
Black brads from the Antique Brads
Watercolouring was done using the Stampin’ Up! Watercolour crayons… again, another “used to death” product.

All products from Stampin’ Up! and as always, available for purchase through me at angelasargeant@gmail.com.

So I’ve mentioned a couple of “used to death” products. Do you have any? Is there something that you keep going back to over and over again? A trusted and/or fun product? Post here and let me know – I’d love to know what everyone’s favourites are.

Easter

Yeah yeah, I know… I’m like weeks late. Sigh. I’ve been tearing my hair out so long trying to figure out why my photos/scans won’t come up on my blog properly that my head is now pounding. So, finally I realised that my internet browser, Safari, was the problem – I’ve changed to Firefox and things are looking up. Aaaanyway, I figure better late than never. Okay, so here’s a scan of my Easter cards that were published in “i can make it myself” magazine (yes, all lower case). They were made using the retired Stampin’ Up! set called “Spring Fling”. Well, the stamps weren’t retired at time of publication but soon after. If anyone is keen on buying this stamp set, I have my one available… used once only ;) (well once to make three cards anyway) you are welcome to e-mail me on angelasargeant@gmail.com to purchase. The other Stampin’ Up! stamps used for these cards are “Tidy Alphabet” – for the words Easter (not retired and certainly available for purchase) and also “Alphabits” which was used for the little word “Easter” on the tag.

New Hot Blog!

Oh this is sooo cooool. Okay, so it’s only new but very cool. One of my fabulous downlines, Alisa Tilsner, has started a new blog for everyone on the Elite Stampers team*. Basically we get given challenges to make cards using various Stampin’ Up! stamp sets, or colour combinations or whatever other challenge Alisa comes up with for us, and then we post our creations onto this blog. Take a look: http://elitechallenges.wordpress.com/ and please feel free to leave a comment. We’ve only just started but I know that this blog will be a great inspiration for lots of cardmakers and scrapbookers.

I’m back baby! I’m back! – George Costanza

Well I’m back. I haven’t solved my uploading photos problem completely but I’ve found a work-around for now. So now I can share what I’ve been up to. Back to the very beginning…. I got my new Stampin’ Up! 2007-2008 Idea Book & Catalogue, went through it a thousand times desperately trying to figure out what I wanted to buy first – most importantly which stamps I wanted free as my reward for sales in January. I finally settled on my order and then the excrutiating wait for my new toys to come. Well I wasn’t disappointed, I’ve had an enormous amount of fun playing with various new stamp sets, accessories and tools. My favourite at the moment is Sassy Stems – great for watercolouring…. I’ve watercoloured with it using Watercolour Crayons, watercolouring with inkpads, watercolouring with markers, etc. Below is one example of Sassy Stems – I’ve coloured this using the inkpads… just squeeeeeze the inkpad while it’s shut and that gives you a little pool of colour on the lid, I then use a waterbrush to pick up the colour from the lid to colour in my image. I have to admit though that this card isn’t completely my creation, I’ve CASED a card that I found on the internet by Yvette Ashe – of course I think her card is much nicer than mine but I’m still happy with the way mine turned out.

Okay I can’t stand this anymore! All I can seem to get up here on the blog are teeny tiny photos and that’s just not good enough. And for some reason I don’t feel like talking without pretty pictures. So please bear with me… I’m going to put up a scan of a card I made recently and hope that it works. If it doesn’t then I’m off to beg for help.
