Several years ago I made a card using a real hatpin and it turned out so nicely I was very impressed with myself with how I found something different and quirky to use. Fast forward to now and hatpins are all the rage. Ahhhh, I was so before my time. LOL.
When making this card it all started with the chipboard. I wanted a letter ‘M’ but I had already used it so I used the ‘negative’ of the chipboard (bonus!) and inked it up in Rose Red then applied a layer of Crystal Effects to it to make it glossy. Behind the chipboard I just glued a piece of patterned paper. The hatpin embellishment was super easy. I just threaded two crystal teardrop beads and a cream pearl through the hatpin then putt a stopper down the bottom. The beads were still slipping so I just added a drop of Crystal Effects to it to hold it all together. Did you know that Crystal Effects is also an awesome glue? The flower part is simply two flowers stuck together with a glue dot and finished off with a flat-backed pearl in the middle. OMGosh! I just realised I didn’t do any stamping on this card. LOL. I so enjoyed using that beautiful background paper that I just realised I didn’t do any stamping. Next time then! I’m sure Mandy will like my card anyway.
Here’s a list of everything I used for easy reference:

)

That’s just gorgeous Angela. I love the way you’ve used the negative of the M, it looks awesome! And who needs stamping when you’ve got such lovely dsp?
ps: totally agree re the adhesives, you can’t have too many!!
Forget Mandy, I think Marelle would be better ;o)
Gorgeous card, Ange!
Just gorgeous Angela! That paper is so beautiful I will have to add it to my wishlist. Why is it that, no matter how much I buy, my wish list never gets any shorter?

Hi Angela, This card is great, love the colours and design, it all just flows together. It is so nice to look at, that you don’t even realize there is no stamping. I will have to order a bottle of Crystal Effects now as i haven’t as yet.
I thought for a moment – M for Margaret. Love the use of the beads etc on the hatpin. Margaret
Beautiful card!
Hi Angela, Groovy card, can you please tell me my ISP. Thanks, KimT
What a lovely card! The hatpin is beautiful and the negative chipboard works perfectly!
