Dragging out an old favourite

The first time I looked through a Stampin’ Up! catalogue it was this stamp that grabbed me. Okay, I was desperate for this stamp set. And so I got it… and… well you know the rest – being a typical stamper I got greedy and was then on to looking for my next acquisition. So I’ve dragged out out again and this is what I made this morning.
So what made me pull out my Heartfelt Thanks stamp set after so long? Well after much complaining to my daughter about the lack of space for me to stamp in my stamping room (yes ‘lack of space’ in a room dedicated to stamping)… she suggested that I use the table I have in here on which I dump stuff on rather than trying to create on my office desk. Genius! So after a bit of shifting things around I have my new stamping space. Now my stamps are to my right hand-side rather than left, so looking at my stamps from a different angle I’m looking at things differently. Kind of like when you walk up and down the supermarket aisles the same way week after week then one day you change direction and all of a sudden there’s all these new products!
This card uses 2-step stamping. I very lightly spritzed the solid rubber stamp with some water then coloured in the petals with Ruby Red watercolour crayon and the stem and leaves with Almost Artichoke crayon then lightly spritzed it again and stamped onto watercolour paper. I then overstamped my watercolour image with the outline rubber stamp using StazOn ink. The base of the watercolour paper has three rows of holes made with a paper piercer and template. This is then layered onto some Almost Artichoke cardstock then Very Vanilla cardstock. The base of the card is More Mustard and then layered onto that (with Stampin’ Dimensionals) is Ruby Red cardstock and Holiday Harmony Designer Series paper.
Here’s a list of products I’ve used: (all products by Stampin’ Up! and available for purchase through me at angelasargeant@gmail.com)

Lovely card – gorgeous colours too.
This is just gorgeous Angela……….definitely an old fave….with a new twist. That Jade, no doubt about that one – ONE SMART COOKIE….has she figured out where her stamping desk and office space is to be yet LOL!!
I have been considering cleaning out my stamping/scrapbooking space and having an eBay sale (to fund some new purchases – of course!). The mood hasn’t struck me YET, but perhaps you have planted the seed as I might just find a long lost treasure like you did!
Very nice Ange…but you left the Holiday Harmony DSP off your supplies list
How did I notice…I used the exact same paper in the exact same way to make a Christmas card last week!!! Great minds think alike….right? But you’ve definitely inspired me to try the technique
This is gorgeous. Heartfelt Thanks immediately went to the top of my favorite sets list when it was first introduced and it’s still the set I grab the most when I’m in a pinch for a quick but gorgeous card. Love your color combo and all the little details you put on this card. Absolutely beautiful!
This was the second set I purchased when I started buying Stampin Up! sets. It is my all time favourite. I am in the mist of reorganising my craft room. Big daughter has left home so dear Hubby moved his computer to her room and I have one big mess to sought out latter today. It will be great when it is done. Marls
LOVE this set, too! Thanks for sharing!
Great card, the more mustard and ruby red look good together, I would never have thought to combine them. Thanks.
I love this card Ang, the colours are great. I love the flower in this set, I too must resurrect it out of the bottom of the pile. Very nice.
I am looking for some idea and stumble upon your posting
decide to wish you Thanks. Eugene
Hi Angela,
Just wanted to let you know HOW much I LOVE your blog, I really love all the tips you share….IT was here I read about removing the stazOn… You clever thing.
Hugs
Ten.
What a beautiful card!
Such a pretty card – I too had to have that stamp set, and then, just like ‘If You Give a Mouse a Cookie’, I had to have some watercolor crayons too
