Ouch! How did that happen? I didn’t blog for a day or two and that stretched out to months. I don’t even know how to apologise for such a massive break, so I’ll just get on with sharing my latest creations and hope that I’m forgiven.
If there’s anyone out there still, today I’m sharing one of my favourite sort of cards to make, monochromatic. I find monochromatic cards very soothing and they’re also fun to make as I rummage through my supplies to find a bunch of different ways to use similar colours. Although I did cheat a little by adding a splash of gold here and there.
A quick tip: If you want to make a pale monochromatic card like I did, then adding texture and layers really helps everything stand out. I’ve dragged a gold inkpad around the edges of the doily and used two different embossing folders to help with this. Also using dimensionals (foam dots) to raise certain sections of the card works well to add more interest to what’s essentially a cream/white card.
Here’s a close up of the card. The butterflies were stamped in gold then punched out with matching punches. Of course if you don’t mind you can also cut them out by hand easily, I just prefer to have the matching punch to make it faster and easier.
One more quick tip: This card would also work great as a wedding or engagement card, just change the sentiment to say ‘Love’ or stamp the initials of the couple instead.
If you have any questions about the card or products I’ve used, or if you wish to purchase any Stampin’ Up! products, please feel free to email me. Or you can just click here to go Stampin’ Up! shopping now.
