Vintage style gift box

A big part of the fun in my Stampin’ Up! business is preparing gifts for my customers and team members.  I know people say it’s better to give than to receive but it’s more than just “better” – I get super excited wrapping up a gift or decorating a gift box to go out because I imagine the surprise on the face of the person when they receive it.

I’m having a big “gift giving marathon” this weekend which is super fun for me and here is one of the gift boxes I’ve decorated.

By the way, if you’re not a fan of my Facebook page then you would have missed out on seeing other gift boxes too as I usually post them there.  If you’re on Facebook then please click here to go ‘like’ my Facebook page as sometimes I post things there that I don’t put on my blog and there’s also the occasional competition over there.

So the Kraft Gift Box is actually ready made that you can buy from Stampin’ Up! and then all I did was the fun part which is to decorate it.  The tag was very easy to make, I just cut some music patterned paper to fit in to the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and punched it out.  The punch is pretty cool because you just slip the card or paper in and it punches out the top to make a tag for you but you can have any length tag you want.  I decorated the tag by adding some  Crochet Trim across the bottom and attached a button to it with some linen thread.  A row of self-adhesive pearls at the top and bottom of the lace gave it that extra ‘rich’ feel.  To hide the ends of the Crochet Trim which I taped to the back of the tag, I just punched out another tag – this time in Vanilla cardstock and adhered it to the back of my tag with some Sticky Strip.  This also gives you a ‘white’ area to write on the back of your tag.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my little gift box that I decorated.  Let me know if you like this seeing this sort of thing on my blog and I’ll try to post more gift wrapping items here in the future.

Awesome tag for your box. I personally would love to see more of this stuff on your blog…..but that’s cause I don’t do face book. I have a quick look sometimes but find it hard to follow. I actually don’t have a face book page…..I know shocking in this day and age lol. Cheers Donna Z :)PS If I had to follow face book as well as my fave SU blogs I would never be off my computer ;)
