Why am I covered in feathers?

So what do you do when there’s dramas around you?  Amuse yourself of course.  And so I did, by making this card:

esme2

Okay, I admit it’s not an original sentiment, but neither is Happy Birthday, and it cracks me up so that’s good enough for me. LOL.  For those of you who haven’t read “Breaking Dawn”, my apologies, you just won’t get the joke.  But for all the Twilight fans out there who have read all the books, this one is dedicated to you!

Background to this card: One of my very kind and generous blog followers sent me a lovely card in the mail yesterday and it was so nice to get ‘fun mail’.  And not only did she send me a card (thank you Tegan!!!) but she also sent me a heap of stamped images.  So the feather image is one that Tegan sent me – I have no idea what brand the stamp is but talk about cooincidences…  I was thinking the other day how I wanted a feather stamp and now Tegan sent me this image!

I’m not sure what Tegan used to stamp the feather but it looks like a golden brown to me.  I coloured in the feather using a blender pen and inkpads.  I then sponged the edges of the card and mounted it onto another piece of cardstock on which I had stamped the script background.  The words “I’d rather be on Isle Esme” were typed on the computer, changed to brown then printed onto white cardstock, punched out with Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Label punch and adhered into a piece of Styled Silver Hodgepodge.  Notice that I snipped the end off the right side of the silver frame as I didn’t need/want the tab on that end.

Hope you like my card and for you Twilight fans out there I hope it’s given you a giggle. ;)

  1. LOL – I seriously cant wait until convention, I hope they have a DVD player in our room!

  2. Haha, unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to read any of the Twilight books yet. I do have them all sitting in my room since Christmas, and am up to about page 12 or so in the first novel, but I just haven’t had a chance to get through them at all. Love what you did with the image Ang- see I know I could count on you to do something great with them :) They were actually from a previous swap, and I couldn’t find a use for them myself, so I am unsure of the exact details of ink/paper/stamps etc. I’m glad you liked your mail :D

  3. I’d also love to be on Isle Esme, providing Edward is there too! Angela, I absolutely adore your Twilght inspired cards. I hope you don’t mind that I copied your “Bite Me” card? It’s made and ready for my neice’s birthday. Both her & her mum(my sister-in-law) are huge Twilight fans as well.Am I being a bit cheeky if I say, I eagerly await your next instalment in your “Twiglight” range of cards?

  4. LOL!! what a beautiful and elegant card – can I please reserve a seat to Isle Esme too??
