I won’t bore you all to death as to why I’ve not been blogging as often as I usually do but I hope that this card I made the other day pleases you.

I made this card as a thank you for the principal at my children’s school so I hope she likes it.
I wanted something elegant so I started my thought process with the background and the ‘thank you’ stamp. The background is ‘Floral’ background stamp by Stampin’ Up! and is stamped onto Mellow Moss cardstock using the matching inkpad. The word ‘thank you’ is stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I adhered some Ribbon Originals (Prep School) ribbon to the background and then another length of ribbon on top of that to provide a base to ground my main image on. This was then layered onto some brushed gold cardstock to highlight the gold ‘thank you’. The main image is one of the roses from the ‘Wild Rose’ stamp set, this was stamped in Rose Red ink and then overstamped with the second stamp (the outline) in Bravo Burgundy, I then coloured the centre of the rose with some Mellow Moss chalk (Stampin’ Pastels). The rose was then cut out and adhered onto a frame which I stamped with Bravo Burgundy ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. To make the card ‘pop’ a bit, both the flower and the frame are adhered using double-sided foam mount (Stampin’ Dimensionals).
